The good thing with learning acrylics is that you can keep applying layers of paint and blend the colors to get your comfortable gradient. We have always encouraged our students to achieve perfection through their own hardship rather than us completing their work to make a good piece of art. This was done by one of our student as a study of effect of contrast in painting.
